(First) 4th Industrial Revolution Expo
UNIVERSITY OF NAMIBIA
On the 1st of July 2021, His Excellency, President Dr Hage G. Geingob appointed an eight-member Task Force on the Namibia Fourth Industrial Revolution (“4IR”), for a period of twelve months. This Task Force was required to, amongst others, conduct a country assessment to determine the readiness of Namibia for the 4IR and make recommendations towards a coherent policy and legislative framework, to harness the full potential presented by technologies. Moreover, the Task Force was also mandated to organize a Namibia 4IR Conference scheduled to take place on the 7th and 8th of June 2022 in Windhoek under the theme of “4IR as an enabler of green and inclusive industrialisation”.

Meeting at University of Namibia
On the 30th of June for the end of the month Team Namibia went to University of Namibia to get on an international call where they had discussed business opportunities and a way to move forward as a joint organisation. There we met Dr Erick Oduor who had spoken to us about different topics and how he got to help solve problems in his community. He spoke to us about how passion is very important and emphasised that very word. A quote he added was “If you want the answer, don’t ask” which doesn’t sound right at first however if you look at it deeper and from a sort of computerised system where people focus on improving the living capabilities, you would have other fact-finding methods that can help you which might even be more efficient.
After the marvellous speech from Dr Erick we moved into discussing the ways to work together as one “big-happy family” and sponsorship opportunities.
University of Namibia Expidition
On the 29th of June Team Namibia’s First Global team went to a expedition held at the University of Namibia (UNAM) where they met up and had the opportunity to speak with a professor from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ~ Professor Peters.
We had a display of an Omni Bot which is a robot that moves in a planer 2 axis direction.

The club had the opportunity to present its projects, along with UNAM and DTC, to represent team Namibia in front of the task force and CEO of the 4IR institution.
